ew York, NY – December 2007 - Eighty New York City school children from P. S. 197 and P. S 92 including actresses Molly Ringwald "Pretty In Pink"), Laura Bell Bundy (Broadway's "Legally Blonde"), Beth Ehlers (CBS's Daytime Drama "The Guiding Light"), and television news personality Vivian Lee, of WNBC News recently helped children's book creator Christian Hainsworth, president of Winning Kids Inc., introduce his innovative 14-book series of Traveling Bear.™ The event was held at Children’s Museum of Manhattan. Aimed at children ages 3-8, the series is designed to promote character building, instill positive values, winning attitudes leadership and self confidence. Book characters (T-Bear, Mookie and Chuga),as well as Lloyd Mabrey (vocalist on the companion DVD) took center stage. The series, which can currently be ordered online at www.travelingbear.com, comes with read-along audio/visual CD / DVD's.

New York, NY – December 15, 2007 – The TravelingBear.com life size characters entertained, danced, hugged and brightened spirits as the company donated three hundred kits of Traveling Bear books and learning materials to the children who attended the 40th Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Christmas Party hosted by the Robert F. Kennedy Family.
The Christmas Party was held on Saturday, December 15, 2007 at the Billie Holiday Theatre. Christian J. Hainsworth, president of Winning Kids Inc., creator of the Traveling Bear™ book series was thanked by Matt Lauer and Hota Kotb for making a donation of one hundred-thousand dollars worth of Traveling Bear books and learning materials to the NBC14th Annual Holiday Toy and Gift Drive for needy families all over the United States. “As a company that is dedicated to promoting character building and literacy in children, it was great way to get our message out, bring Christmas joy and help children that normally wouldn’t have the financial means to get our products.” stated Christian J. Hainsworth.
All donations put some cheer into the holidays for a child who may otherwise not have received any gift at all. The items are often given to families who cannot afford to buy presents, so that the children can open a gift that's given to them by a loved one, not a charity. These items go to 210 organizations in all 50 states reaching millions of kids. Recipients include homeless shelters, children's group homes, schools, foster family services, domestic abuse shelters, Native American missions, military bases, hospitals, preschools, after school programs, and the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.
The latest data show that 36 million Americans are living in poverty. Families are still displaced by Hurricane Katrina. Military families are still waiting for loved ones to return home. As a matter of fact, a greater portion of families and children live in poverty in America today than three decades ago.
Last holiday season, TODAY viewers, website visitors and corporate contributors teamed up to provide $26 million worth of toys, books, games, clothing, toiletries, electronics, musical instruments, CDs, videos, cosmetics and other suitable gifts to more than four million children via 203 organizations in all 50 states.
